GeoCities GeoPoints Rewards and Crypto Coin Tokens

Basic Recollection of Rewards

I'm pulling this data primarily from memory in combination with data that I'm able to pull from a few resources with varying information. The primary answer that I was looking for on GeoCities GeoPoints GeoRewards was that you could order physical products. It appears to be referenced that you could get physical boxed software, books, and peripherals.

This was a point in time that Amazon primarily sold books, then CDs, then DVDs (DVDs much later). At the time books were a signficant reward.

Shippable products like QuickCams (well over USD$ 150 at this time, approx 1996) -- computer mice -- and merchandise were part of the available options to redeem.

Crypto Coin Tokens

Most of the documentation of GeoCities enhanced program mentions a $4.95 monthly charge that primarily would upgrade the space for web pages from "2 meg" to "10 meg" -- this was a lot at that point in time. This is still the 1995-1997 time frame.

This was doubling the Rewards available to redemption (which the fine print mentions can be sent back to pay the $4.95 making the Rewards system fee free.

There are a lot more details, this isn't an exact to the line answer (there are a few misanswers, which you can explore in the links) but if you were to compare a web3 token system to the general GeoCities system, the largest rewards system in the mid 1990s, Rewards would start with 1,000 passive interactions and not meeting a huge amount as expected for today's tokens.
